Festival Report: Bluegrass Strings and Crafty Things

I went over to Largo Saturday evening for the Bluegrass Strings and Crafty Things event at Largo Central Park, and had a great time. When we arrived the Bluegrass Factory band was finishing their set with a lively version of Rocky Top. After that Matt Mayes entertained the crowd with some fine Banjo and Fiddle work along with some Bass and Mando accompaniment.

Suwanee Banjo Camp

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on a banjo camp happening in March here in Florida. The Camp is mostly Old-Time style banjo but they have added Bill Keith as their bluegrass banjo instructor for the camp this year.

Here are the details from www.suwanneebanjocamp.com

Event: Suwanee Banjo Camp

Dates: March 16-18, 2007

Location: O'Leno State Park, High Springs, Florida

We still have room for more students. Sign up today!

The Suwanee Banjo Camp will again take place at beautiful O'Leno State Park, on the banks of the Santa Fe River (a tributary of the Suwanee) near High Springs, Florida. Come study 5-string banjo with some of today's best players and teachers. Our program features hands-on classes, demonstrations, and a big faculty concert, and still leaves lots of time for jamming with your fellow banjo enthusiasts.

Recent Event -Jack Lawrence and Clay Hess Workshop

We recently had a guitar workshop with Jack Lawrence and Clay Hess. We had a very good turnout and everyone really seemed to enjoy the workshop. Jack and Clay covered a lot of material and I think all the workshop attendees learned quite a bit. Click on the picture below to go to a album of pictures from the event.

We had a great concert at the Palladium this past Saturday and we have some pictures and video to share from the event.
