The Bluegrass Parlor Band played at the Annual Thanksgiving Weekend Bluegrass Festival at the Sertoma Youth Ranch. We had a great time out there and the festival had a great turnout this year. I was there on Friday and it was the largest crowd I have seen there in years. We also welcomed our newest band member, Tyler Walker, to the band. Tyler is Cory and Jarrod's younger brother and he has been coming up to play as a guest for about a year now.
I went over to Largo Saturday evening for the Bluegrass Strings and Crafty Things event at Largo Central Park, and had a great time. When we arrived the Bluegrass Factory band was finishing their set with a lively version of Rocky Top. After that Matt Mayes entertained the crowd with some fine Banjo and Fiddle work along with some Bass and Mando accompaniment.
This is an event that has been around for a few years and it just keeps getting better and better. The have Claire Lynch as their headliner this year and wide range of Tampa Bay Talent. You can find more details below as well as photos from the 2005 event.
